Dr. Kathryn Moore

Dr. Moore graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Trent University Peterborough 1985 and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto in 1989.  She earned a dental internship position 1989/1990 at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto.  Following her internship, she associated for 11 years in Millbrook, Ontario and then opened her own practice in Peterborough in 2001.  Her practice is a general family dental practice with a special interest in pediatric and special care dentistry, nonsurgical periodontics and sleep apnea treatment, in addition to cosmetic rehabilitation. 

 

Dr. Moore has completed two -year long mini-residency programs offered by the University of Toronto in both implant dentistry and cosmetic dentistry.  Recently, she has joined the Kois educational program in Seattle U.S.A..  

 

Kathryn is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM), the only non-profit professional association dedicated exclusively to the practice of dental sleep medicine. Dr. Moore helps treat snoring and obstructive sleep apnea with oral appliance therapy, an effective treatment. AADSM membership provides Dr. Moore with access to educational resources and practice management tools that help her better serve her patients by providing the highest quality of care in the treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea. Community Development

Dr. Moore believes strongly in supporting and contributing to the community in which she was raised and where she chose to return and raise her family.  Kathryn recently retired from boards of the Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough and the YWCA. Kathryn continues her work with the YWCA's Beyond First Impressions campaign to provide dental and other medical care to women and children who have been victims of domestic violence. 

 

She has been a past president of the Peterborough and District Dental Society, Board member of The Community Concert Association, Parent Council Chair PCVS, lead chaperone for the Trent Swim Team.

 

She also volunteered to provide necessary dental care to a local Syrian privately sponsored refugee family.

 

In addition, she and her husband Robert Brown have been major donors to the YMCA capital campaign and The Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough.  She was one of the Dancing Docs in the Dancing with the Docs and Bollywood Fundraiser for the Peterborough Regional Health Centre which raised over $150,000 for the hospital.
